Center for International Collaboration (CIC)

CRIC(Center for Regional & International Collaboration) was separated to CRC(Center for Regional Collaboration) and CIC(Center for International Collaboration) in April 2014. If you want to know about CRC, please visit CRC website (Japanese only).

The Center for International Collaboration promotes international exchanges in education and research, such as collaborative projects and student exchanges. Kochi University serves as the Center of Community (COC) in its cooperative endeavors with local communities.  As such we are able to disseminate our achievements to the rest of the world.

Our fundamental principles are:
1. Collaborating on global projects
2. Linking local and global collaborations together
3. Promoting reciprocity in international exchanges

We are always keen to apply Kochi’s local resources to our international collaborations, and conversely to apply the benefits of these collaborations to our own education and research. We also encourage an atmosphere on the Kochi campus where staff and students from home and abroad can collaborate with one another and learn together.

The Center for International Collaboration consists of two sections: the Section for International Projects and the Section for International Student Affairs. Also affiliated is the Chinese Language Center.

The Section for International Projects
The Section for International Projects prioritizes the linking of international collaborations and local communities and promotes research exchanges through international networks, based on integration of arts and sciences.  We cooperate with JICA and other international organizations in applying research results to various international projects.

The Section for International Student Affairs promotes university-level collaborations on research, education and student exchanges, supports Japanese students’ studies abroad, and assists students from abroad in their studies at Kochi. Our aim is to make the exchange experience as smooth as possible for both students and local communities – in effect contributing to the internationalization of these communities.
